Motorola V3i Review
The Motorola V3 is an updated version of the wildly popular Razr V3. The V3i retains the sleek, compact design same as the original RAZR was so loved, but this version is offered in a classic final metallic graphite. While color is the only change in the appearance of the V31, all the features of the Razr have improved, although some changes are very subtle.
The caller ID display on the outside is quite small, leaving the bright shell to become easily smudged with fingerprints, but the V3i is a beautiful phone in general. The clamshell design flips open easily to answer calls without touching a button, and snaps to close and finish them. Users have to remember to terminate calls manually if using the speakerphone, however.
The buttons and switches around the exterior of the phone all fit seamlessly into the design of the V3i and are very easy to use. The keyboard is similar to that of V3, with easy to distinguish the keys and a highly responsive. Also like the original, the V3i is a quad band mobile phone, making it ideal for international use.
The low resolution camera of the RAZR V3 has been upgraded to a 1.2 megapixel camera offering 8x digital zoom and is capable of video. The V3i? S camera quality is still very low compared to other camera phones in the market, but is ideal for occasional use or for picture messaging.
Another much appreciated update seen in the V3i is the addition of a music player. Although the version that comes with iTunes software is not available in the UK, the V3i has an easy to use MP3 player that can be controlled through the phone? S foreign keys. Playing music is available for the flight and can be used with headphones or play through the phone? S speaker, which provides a pretty good quality. The music player also lets users create playlists for your convenience.
The characteristics of the V3i's internal memory is not very impressive, with only 12 MB of storage. MicroSD cards can be used to expand the memory to store music and ready to play, but the card slots are on the battery cover, making access difficult. The memory card with 64 MB including the V3i easily holds about 150 songs, but anyone wanting more file storage space has to remove the battery cover.
Although features of the Motorola V3i is somewhat dated compared to other mobile phones is a vast improvement over the original RAZR. If you? Looking for a stylish, modern clamshell Razr phone, but want the convenience of a camera and MP3 player function, the V3i is perfect.
